SOCIAL RESPONSABILITY

Our Company, GOLONTOUR, is committed to supporting alternatives and cultural resuscitation projects in the area of the Lower Basin of the Mira River. This allows us to highlight community initiatives that might otherwise be overlooked .

 

Through our tours, we are strengthening partnerships built on friendship, trust, mutual assistance, and commitment to the community.

 

We take small but firm steps toward improving the well-being of the community that allows us to promote our cultural richness both at home and abroad.

 

Actions we have taken include:

 

• Visiting the Black Roots Handicraft Center of San Juan de Lachas;

 

• Participating in a training course focused on the industrialization of locally made food products;

 

• Participating in local community fairs;

 

• Providing links for training with local schools in Imbabura and Carchi;

 

• Forming a partnership with the manufacturers of musical instruments for the Bomba in San Juan de Lachas;

 

• Advising and supporting the promotion of artisan centers through links with advertising companies to improve the packaging of their products; and

 

• Participating in different training courses through the Tourism Network of Imbabura to provide better service to our visitors.

HIGH SCHOOL AND TRAINING 

Golontour is supporting  the Eugenio Espejo high School and the tourism specialty in the town of Gualchan on the role of the tourism guide for the communities.

It has facilitated the realization of internships within our company by strengthening knowledge also generating alternatives for the development of quality tourism, respecting and taking care of conservation of the forest and the Golondrinas Reserve..
